On some indices to the estimation of stability degree of mechanical systems (Q1087025)

Some definitions of indices, used to the estimation of degree of the Lyapunov stability, the attraction and the exponential stability of motion of mechanical system described by a nonlinear ordinary differential equation are introduced. Some of their fundamental properties are shown. Among the others, some relationships between the various kinds of stability and the values of the indices are considered. Some effects of the choice of a norm on these values are studied. The indices are compared with the known Lyapunov exponent.
