An attempt is made to study the reflection of surface waves in a running ocean by undulations on the seabed in a finite region. The problem has been solved according to standard linearised theory of surface waves. The perturbation potential has been obtained in terms of the speed of the running stream and the application of the theory has also been discussed for the patch of ripples on an otherwise flat bed.
