The paper gives a mathematical formulation of cathodic protection systems, their discretization and the treatment of corner singularities. As the boundary conditions are nonlinear the resulting equations are not linear. For a special but important case of the boundary conditions a modification of the Jacobi, Gauss-Seidel and Newton-Raphson methods can be used. The Newton-Raphson method shows the best properties. The discussed method can be used to solve ``more general'' problems.
