Gravitational hydrodynamics or fluid dynamics with long range forces is of special interest for astronomers, physicists, and geologists in studying the dynamical behavior of the components of a galaxy:us media are solved under the assumption that convection takes place in a thin layer around the heating surface. A typical example of transient free convection in a porous medium adjacent to a vertical, semi-infinite flat plate with step increase in wall temperature or surface heat flux, is studied. Finite element method is used for computations.
