EBQ for a multistage production system considering rework (Q1107427)

Models have been developed to determine (a) the optimum number of cycles for rework and (b) the optimum batch quantity in a multistage production system in which rework is done at the same stage of production where it occurs. Two different policies of processing reworked lots are examined and a comparison is made considering the effect of change of each of the model parameters. Interpretations of the findings together with the resultant guidelines are also provided.
