The authors consider a two-species haploid system and define two stability concepts, called strong stability and ESS, respectively. Static ESS conditions are developed for the frequency evolution by analyzing the stability of the corresponding dynamics for two pairs of strategies. Under a regularity assumption, the equivalence of the two stability concepts is proved.
