Die vorliegende Arbeit gibt einen neuen, eleganten Zugang zu einigen Resultaten über reelle algebraische Gruppen. So beweist der Autor beispielsweise mit Hilfe der Killingform und mit Methoden der Galoiskohomologie das folgende Ergebnis von G. Harder: Eine halbeinfache, einfach zusammenhängende reelle algebraische Gruppe mit reellem anisotropen maximalem Torus ist genau dann anisotrop, wenn jedes Weylgruppenelement dieses Torus einen reellen Repräsentanten hat [siehe \textit{G. Harder}, Abh. Math. Semin. Univ. Hamb. 28, 208--214 (1965; Zbl 0158.03104)].
