We study the torsion of hollow cylinders using finite element technique together with the linear multipoint constraint concept. The present analysis is applied to hollow cylinders for which the results are already available and then to the torsion of circular cylinders with star shaped hole, which find their applications in the design and analysis of solid propellant launch vehicles. We have also studied the variation of torsional rigidity when the star shaped hole is moved along the radial direction.
