We have extended the scheme in [\textit{P. Glaister}, Comput. Math. Appl. 20, No. 3, 45-51 (1990; Zbl 0701.76116)] for flows with non-equilibrium chemistry and equilibrium energy to treat flows with non-equilibrium energy. Specifically, we have augmented the flow equations by production equations for non-equilibrium internal energies, and assumed that some (or all) of the species have internal energies which can be separated into an equilibrium part, and the non-equilibrium energies. The more general flux terms then give rise to a larger set of eigenvalues and eigenvectors required for the algorithm. It is then a straightforward matter to extend codes to treat flows with non-equilibrium energy.
