According to \textit{P. A. Markowich} [The stationary semiconductor device equations (Springer, Wien) (1986; MR 87b.78042)] the basic stationary semiconductor device equations are presented, and for them, the inverse average tetrahedral finite element schemes are applied. Existence and uniqueness of the solution are proved and a method is proposed for the evaluation of the approximate terminal currents.
