The authors define a chessboard-like quadratic pattern in an Euclidean plane and defines distances, chains and geodesics between two elements (geobits) of the pattern. A chain with minimum number of links between two geobits is called an ``alyssoid''. In this paper the number of such alyssoids joining two given geobits is given. Then dilation factors are studied.
