The author obtains an asymptotic solution to the equations governing aerodynamic bracking and intensive ablation of a body moving in the upper atmosphere. The presented formula shows that a complete evaporation of the body occurs in the absence of bracking. Discussed are the problems of parts of the Shoemaker-Levi 9 comet entering into the Jupiter atmosphere, and the Tunguska phenomenon.
