A dynamic control system is considered in the presence of an external disturbance, nonlinearity and uncertainty of the linear portion. An improved adaptive law for the upper bound of the norm of the uncertainties is proposed. Stability analysis shows that this approach guarantees boundedness of both the state of the closed-loop system and of the adaptive gain, when boundary layer techniques are employed. Simulation results illustrate the controller.
