The author develops a methodology for the construction of various vector sequence transformation methods, which leads him to a unified approach to this subject, and also yields some new results. Connections with the general interpolation problem and with projections are discussed. Moreover, applications to the solution of systems of linear equations are given. Results of some numerical tests are presented, and a list of 55 references is included.
