For given fuzzy relation matrices \(A\) and \(y\) the author investigates the properties of the approximate solutions \(x\) of the fuzzy relation equations \(x \circ A=y\) where the composite operators are max-min, Hamacher and its special case, disjunctive sum-conjunctive product. A quasi-Newton method is adopted to find the solutions. Finally, comparisons among the various operators are made.
