A method is given for the construction of tubular surface patches. The underlying idea is to use sweep objects on primitives that can be used in a solid modelling system. The distance between the surface and a directrix curve depends on two variables: the parameter corresponding to the directrix and an angular parameter around the directrix. The surface is evaluated following a B-spline scheme.
