Transnormality is a generalization of the characterizing property of constant width in Euclidean spaces stating that every normal space has only normal intersections with the surface. The authors investigate conditions under which this property is satisfied for graphs of smooth real-valued functions on \(\mathbb{R}^ 2\). In particular it is shown that certain polynomials have graphs which are not transnormal.
