The authors solve the problem of mixed convection flow of a non-Newtonian fluid in a vertical eccentric annuli formed by two cylinders at different temperatures. The governing equations are simplified by expanding all the variables in terms of a quantity \(\varepsilon\) \((\varepsilon<1)\), a ratio of radial to a vertical distance, and then the resulting equations are solved by finite difference and finite element methods. The effects of different parameters are discussed. The advantage of the method is that both the finite difference and the finite element methods are used in the same problem.
