In this paper the author presents the technique and results of numerical experiments designed to simulate the cross-slot flow instability and formation of the steady vortex array discovered by V. N. Kalashnikov and M. G. Tsiklauri. The calculated threshold values of the Reynolds number and the flow structure visualized by a dye-tracking method are in good agreement with experimental results.
