The authors present an overlapping Dirichlet/Robin domain decomposition method. They use Dirichlet and Robin transmission conditions on the interfaces of an overlapping partitioning of the computational domain. Interface conditions are derived to study the convergence of the method. Some properties are given through four numerical examples (skew advection, normal and tangential advection, curved advection and finally rotating advection). A general mathematical framework is also provided with the possibility of being applicable to derive overlapping versions of all the classical nonoverlapping methods.
