An adaptive control technique based on fuzzy parameter identification is proposed for time-varying linear systems. A fuzzy identification algorithm has been developed for handling the fuzziness of the system input, output and time-varying parameters. The identification of the fuzzy parameters includes estimations for past and present time, as well as forecasts for future time. This algorithm has been successfully applied in agriculture, for the adaptive control of maize production.
