This paper is devoted to the coupled AKNS-Kaup-Newell spectral problem, a finite-dimensional completely integrable systems (FDIS) of real form, instead of complex form. To this end the authors deal with the Lax representation and \(r\)-matrix formulation. The complete integrability for the restricted coupled AKNS-Kaup-Newell flow is established.
