In this short paper the author starts out from the Lax representation for the constrained flows of the AKNS hierarchy [cf. the author and \textit{Y. Li}, J. Phys. A, Math. Gen. 26, No. 5, L 273--L 278 (1993; Zbl 0772.58019)]. Then he switches to the corresponding classical Poisson structure in which the \(r\)-matrix enters. With the help of these expressions he determines a family of integrals of motion.
