The author presents a compressing postbuckling analysis for a laminated cylindrical shell with piezoelectric actuators subjected to combined action of mechanical, electric and thermal loads. The electric field is assumed to have the transverse component only, and the governing equations are based on classical shell theory of von Kármán-Donnell-type with kinematic nonlinearity and thermo-piezoelectric fields. A singular perturbation technique is employed to determine buckling loads and postbuckling equilibrium paths. Several numerical examples are given.
