The qualitative property investigated in this paper is the conservation of the monotonicity in space of the initial heat distribution. Some results concerning the monotonicity conservation and total monotonicity of one-step vector-iterations are obtained. Then, applying these results, numerical solutions of the one-dimensional heat equation are considered. The main theorem establishes necessary and sufficient condition of the uniform monotonicity conservation.
