The paper deals with the basic problem of image processing which is image segmentation and denoising color image. A new approach is herein proposed which combines Meyer's decomposition with a chromaticity-brightness criterion expressed as the minimization of an integral. The convergence of the technique is analyzed by the introduction of a small parameter. No illustrative example is displayed.
