The authors consider the normed algebra \(C_B(X)\) of all continuous bounded scalar-valued maps on a completely regular space \(X\). They study some topological properties like the Lindelöf property, \(\sigma\)-compactness, countable compactness, pseudocompactness and paracompactness on some sets (spectrum) defined by (non-vanishing closed) ideals of \(C_B(X)\).
