This is a review of the research on fuzzy relations and intuitionistic fuzzy relations (IFR) [see the reviewer's book: Intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Theory and applications. Heidelberg: Physica (1999; Zbl 0939.03057)]. The properties of some compositions of IFRs are discussed and illustrated by suitable examples.
