Using \textit{K. Whittingtons}'s procedure [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 126, No. 10, 3131-3132 (1998; Zbl 0902.54026)] the authors generalize a result by Ungar in order to show that every monotone open 2-homogeneous metric continuum is locally connected (in fact, a more general result is proved). At the end, a general result on the pseudo-arc implies that it is open 2-homogeneous.
