Discrete-time dynamic systems are considered. The systems are described by transfer functions consisting of numerator polynomials and denominator polynomials with uncertain coefficients. The domain of admissible parameters is fixed by the norm of the vector of the polynomial coefficients. Two different norms (\(\ell_1\)-norm and \(\ell_\infty\)-norm) are considered. The aim is to develop controllers such that the characteristic equation of the closed-loop system belongs to a target set defined by the constrained norm of the vectors of the polynomial coefficients. An algorithm equivalent to linear programming for the design of controllers with given order is presented. The procedure is illustrated by numerical examples.
