The paper is devoted to the numerical integration of stiff ordinary differential equations. A class of variable coefficients \(A\)-stable explicit two- and three-stage Runge-Kutta methods is derived. Based on numerical tests it is claimed that the methods proposed are more efficient than other known Runge-Kutta methods.
