The authors use the method of complex functions to study the title problem. They consider the case of stress-free boundary conditions on the inner boundary of lining, and this case is of special interest in engineering. The total wave fields consisting of a steady plane incident SH wave, one reflected wave and one outward progressive wave, are discussed for an anisotropic medium. The dynamic stress concentration factor is calculated. Two kinds of circular cavities surfaced with lining made of different materials, and their interaction with plane SH-waves are examined by numerical methods. The study seems to be very interesting and has practical engineering applications.
