The use of some functional analytic methods in the study of the numerical simulation by using hybrid time-frequency techniques is reviewed. A comparison between two state-of-the-art hybrid techniques in terms of computational speed is also included in order to point out the efficiency gains that can be achieved by partitioning heterogeneous circuits into blocks, treating latent blocks in a one-dimensional space and active ones in a bidimensional space. Some numerical experiments illustrate the abstract results developed in the present paper.
