The authors study \((C,1)\) means of orthonormal expansions for Freud, Erdős, and exponential (on \((-1,1)\)) weights. They improve estimates for weighted \((C,1)\) means in \(L_p,\) \(1\leq p\leq \infty,\) by inserting an additional factor to the weight which is large close to the corresponding Mhaskar-Rakhmanov-Saff number.
