In this paper under review, the author first presents a short historical overview of the Mikhlin-Hörmander and Marcinkiewicz multiplier theorems. Then, he considers different versions of them and provide comparisons. He also presents a recent improvement of the Marcinkiewicz multiplier theorem in the two-dimensional case.
