The authors introduce a normal form for planar piecewise smooth systems with a pseudo-focus on its discontinuity line. These normal forms are applied to determine the maximum of periodic orbits bifurcating from a pseudo-focus and get some relevant results for quartic systems, linear-quadratic systems and quasi-homogenous systems of degree four.
