The authors present a variational approximation method (as opposed to the reproducing kernel method done previously) for solving the nonlinear two-point boundary value problem, the Troesch's problem. They propose resolving a sequence of boundary value problems in certain spaces of B-spline functions. The sequence of solutions is constructed and computed from the number of knots in the partition of the domain. Convergence of such a sequence to the exact solution is proven under adequate assumptions. Numerical examples are shown to verify the efficiency of the method.
