The authors adapt the perturbation method introduced in [\textit{M. Choulli} and \textit{L. Kayser}, Positivity 19, No. 3, 625--646 (2015; Zbl 1325.65143)] in obtaining a lower Gaussian bound for the Neumann heat kernel of the Laplace-Beltrami operator over an open subset of a compact Riemannian manifold.
