The possible number of codewords of a code such as MDS and CMDS (maximum distance separable and cyclic maximum distance separable) codes and their exact main parameters are discussed and determined in a large number of cases. Also a new upper bound is given concerning the parameters and their existence for higher dimensional stochastic (0,1) matrices.
