Simulating multibody dynamics with rough contact surfaces and run-in wear (Q2458295)

After a short presentation of the theory for multibody systems with unilateral contacts, the paper takes into consideration the local contact properties. In this context a wear model based on the local loss of mechanical energy is presented. This model is approporiate for wear of outstanding asperities. A numerical example illustrates the influence of surface geometry on the dynamics of bodies in contact.
