The present paper deals with the analysis of a second order linear differential operator with operator valued coefficients and Dirichlet boundary conditions in separable Hilbert spaces. More precisely, the author shows a regularized trace formula for the introduced class of operators. The proof makes decisive use of the existence of an orthonormal basis of eigenfunctions of the differential operator.
