Comments on the Michael selection problem in hyperconvex metric spaces (Q2492106)

\textit{X.~Wu} in [Z.~Anal.\ Anwend.\ 22, No.~3, 505--516 (2003; Zbl 1063.47042)] proved a selection theorem for multimaps on paracompact topological spaces with sub-admissible values in hyperconvex metric spaces. As application, he obtained a fixed point theorem. In the paper under review, the present author shows that the main results of the paper of X.~Wu are consequences of the selection theorem of \textit{H.~Ben--El--Mechaiekh} and \textit{M.~Oudadess} [J.~Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 195, No.~2, 614--618 (1995; Zbl 0845.54012)] and fixed point theorems of \textit{M.~Khamsi} [J.~Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 204, No.~1, 298--306 (1996; Zbl 0869.54045)] and \textit{S.~Park} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl.\ 37, No.~4(A), 467--472 (1999; Zbl 0930.47023)]. This helps to simplify considerably the proofs of X.~Wu.
