Second order Jacobi approximation with applications to fourth-order differential equations (Q2573625)

The authors investigate the second order Jacobi approximation with applications to fourth-order differential equations and establish a series of results in non uniformly weighted Sobolev space. They study a special orthogonal projection which is useful in the numerical analysis of Jacobi spectral methods for axi-symmetrical domains and provide Jacobi spectral schemes for several fourth-order problems and prove their convergence. Finally they present numerical results with remarks.
