The geometry of discontinuous systems near an elliptic singularity (English)

The paper is a continuation of the author's recent paper [Differ Equations 35, No.~5, 675-682 (1999); translation from Differ. Uravn. 35, No. 5, 670-677 (1999; Zbl 0987.58018)]. The author deals with the elliptic singularities of discontinuous systems, obtained by gluing two smooth systems on manifolds with piecewise smooth boundaries along their common hypersurface \(Q\). The behaviour of the system near \(E\) is investigated, where \(E\subset Q\) is the set of the elliptic critical points at which both smooth vector fields \(v_\pm\) are tangent to \(Q\). The main result is the existence of a local flow near an elliptic point.
