N. N. Luzin rejected in his letter all accusations put forward against him by the Party newspaper ``Pravda'' in an article published on July 3, 1936. An anonymous author affirmed in particular that it was N. N. Luzin who caused M. Ya. Suslin to leave the university chair which ruined finally the young talented mathematician and blamed N. N. Luzin also in publishing as his own some significant results obtained by his students M. Ya. Suslin and P. S. Novikov. The so launched ``Academician Luzin's Case'' was stopped all of a sudden supposedly after the intervention of Stalin.
