The paper deals with stability of \(M\)-layer elastic body under the conditions of plane deformation. It is assumed that the composite immersion and fixing conditions are such that the initial strain state is piece-wise homogeneous. By means of the separation of variables the two-dimensional spectral problem is reduced to the one-dimensional one. The author derives the formulas for the problem eigenvalues.
