The authors show that the standard convolution regularization of the Haar system generates Riesz bases of smooth functions for \(L^2(R)\), providing in this way an alternative to the approach given by \textit{N. K. Govil} and the reviewer [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 125, No. 11, 3363-3370 (1997; Zbl 0887.42022)].
