Edge effects in composite weakly reinforced by fibers of square cross-section and weakened by a contact crack (English)

The problem of determination of edge effect zones caused by contact cracks and by the difference of elastic moduli of composite components is considered. First, the perturbed stress state is determined from equations of elasticity of piecewise-homogeneous medium. Then, the zone of edge effects is determined using a criterion. Solution of the boundary value problem of elasticity is found numerically using the grid approach realized by Cholesky technique. A numerical example is considered, and the boundaries of the edge effect zone are plotted.
