Flow calculation in hydrocannon by numerical approach with artificial viscosity (English)

For calculation of flow in a shock hydrocannon, a numerical method based on the introduction of artificial viscosity into the equations of motion is developed. The transient motion of compressible fluid is considered on the basis of quasi-one-dimensional approximation. The equation of state is assumed in the form which takes into account possible cavitation of fluid. The results of calculations are compared with results obtained by method of characteristics and Godunov method. The peculiarities of application of the method for solving problems of transient motions of fluid are discussed.
