A tandem fluid queue with gradual input (English)
0 references
A fluid network consists of two buffers with constant output rates. The output of the first is fed into the second, and the output of the second leaves the system. The source for the first buffer produces input according to a general stochastic process but is turned off and on for random periods. The main result of the paper is to determine the Laplace transform of the joint distribution of the contents of the two buffers in steady state. The case of finite buffers can be reduced to the case of infinite buffers.
